The Sant Fransesc Church in Santpedor, Spain is a newly renovated historic church by architect David Closes. After years of neglect and deterioration, the crumbling church underwent a positive face lift. While the original structure and building is essentially the same and true to its roots, a modern addition was added to the front of the old church. The contrast of materials between the glass pane walls and the rough stone collaborate together to create an interesting and unique aesthetic. By combining the old with the new, Closes was able to create building with new personality that still maintains its traditional ties.  [via inhabitat] View in gallery View in gallery View in gallery
